Eyewear

Flying with glasses

Our visor sits close to the face by design. Occasionally, we run into issues with the visor touching the top of prescription eyewear on the way down, and while in flight.  Here's what to try first, and the eyewear we've checked on the RATH.

Try this first

Adjust the visor

A small set screw behind the visor knob raises or lowers the visor. A little more height is often enough to clear your frames.

How to adjust the visor →

Adjust the height of the helmet

By making the helmet sit slightly higher on the head, we can often accomodate issues with glasses touching the visor. The best way to do this is to uniformly tighten the straps that adjust the top of the skullplate.

Recommended Prescription eyewear

We fit-checked these models under the RATH visor with the headset on. Flying Eyes glasses pictured are sunglasses, but clear lens prescription eyewear is available. Sound testing with the glasses is in progress, and we'll post the results here. We don't sell these frames; the links go to the manufacturer.
